A New Reason to Consider Testosterone

Author : Dr. Sheikh Jeelani   / BNYS | FTECH

Many men with low testosterone avoid replacement therapy when they learn they may have to inject the medication themselves. The downside is that injections tend to be the least expensive method. When these men turn to topicals, they may find that they dislike the daily application, they don’t absorb it well and develop rashes, or they have young children that they don’t want to risk coming in contact with it. A new delivery method for testosterone approved by the FDA could be just what you’re looking for.

With three dosage strengths and approval for weekly injection, a wide range of men could be successfully treated with Xyosted. The benefit of an auto-injector is that you never have to push the needle through the skin yourself, nor do you have to see it happen. Once it’s loaded with the medication, a simple press of a button will inject all the medication. Due to the speed of the mechanism, many people find that auto-injectors are essentially painless. The subcutaneous delivery method is another bonus, as the needle is often half the size of an intramuscular needle. There isn’t any timeline yet for when Xyosted will be available, but FDA approval is a critical step in the process!
